Veterinary Surgeon – Hospital Based/Surgery&CT bias/Near Manchester

If you are keen to spend more time in surgery and CT, our clients are offering a fantastic opportunity to join their team.  Due to growth within the practice, they are looking for a senior surgeon to join their busy hospital as part of their dedicated surgical team where you will work with a variety of talented clinicians and support staff every day on a varied and fulfilling caseload with a 50% bias toward surgical shifts.

Our clients are a well-established, Independent tier 3 RCVS, 24-hour Veterinary Hospital who pride themselves on offering top-of-the-line care, equipment and facilities while continuing to make patients, clients and their staff top priorities in equal measure.  

They are currently looking for an experienced and driven vet to join their surgical team, currently consisting of 3 veterinary surgeons (1 surgery certificate holder and 2 working towards this) and a team of dedicated surgical nurses.  This role is full time, permanent, working a 4 day week.  All applicants will ideally have excellent communication skills and be confident communicating with both clients and clinical team members.  You will enjoy being part of a team and working sole charge in the fast paced and active hospital environment.

Applicants should be experienced surgeons, with a keen interest in soft tissue and/or orthopaedic surgery and CT scanning.  You will ideally hold or be working towards a certificate in small animal surgery (although this is not essential) and be confident performing complex surgical procedures.

The hospital itself provides routine and emergency care for the local community as well as some local branch practices. Equipped with advanced digital x-ray, ultrasound, and CT, 3 operating theatres, large prep area, separate ward/kennel areas and full inhouse lab.  They currently offer complex soft tissue and orthopaedic services including TECA, BOAS, TPLO, CCWO, fracture repairs and spinal surgery.

Based just north of Manchester you will benefit from all the culture, history, food and entertainment the city has to offer with easy access right to the centre in under 30 minutes by car or train.  At the practice itself there is ample parking for those who drive and easy access to great train and bus services within minutes walking of the hospital door, making commuting to and from work a breeze.

•    Annual salary of £48,000 to £74,000 depending on experience
