Veterinary Surgeon - large independent practice

This position is ideal for someone with 2-5 years of post-graduate experience, offering a competitive full-time equivalent salary ranging from £42,000 to £55,000, dependent on experience. The role is designed to fit your lifestyle, with the option of a 3, 4, or 5-day work week. Additionally, the rota includes a manageable 1:4 Friday/Saturday shift, ensuring a balanced work-life schedule. On Friday nights, the focus is on in-patient care, with no new emergencies , these are handled by an OOH service. Saturdays involve first opinion consultations and occasional non-routine operations, concluding at 17:30 with no further on-call duties.

The average weekly hours for this role are 37.6, typically spread over four days, but there is flexibility to adjust the hours to suit your needs. The 1:4 rota is a fixed aspect of the role, ensuring a predictable and stable schedule.

Your responsibilities will include a mix of first opinion consulting, diagnostics, surgery, and dental procedures. The team values individual strengths and preferences, allowing for a tailored approach to your daily tasks. Whether you excel in surgery or prefer diagnostics, your skills will be utilised and appreciated.

Join a large, independent, and well-established hospital team comprising 14 vets, including CertAVP holders in medicine, diagnostic imaging, cardiology, and ECC. The practice also sees a significant number of exotic pets, with one of the vets currently pursuing a CertGP in Exotics.
