Are you a dedicated Veterinary Surgeon looking to advance your career in a dynamic and supportive environment? Located in picturesque Essex, just 30 minutes by train from London and within easy reach of Southend and Stansted airports, this role offers the perfect blend of professional growth and work-life balance. Plus, the seaside is just a short 25-minute drive away!

Join a thriving 24-hour RCVS-accredited small animal hospital, where a large team of 14 vets, including surgical and medical certificate holders, awaits. Many of the vets are currently pursuing advanced certificates in surgery, orthopaedics, cardiology, exotics, and medicine. The highly skilled nursing team boasts many Schedule 3 and imaging-trained professionals, alongside several with post-graduate certificates. Additionally, the team includes a Hydrotherapist, 2 Physiotherapists, and 10 Client Care Advisers.

The state-of-the-art, purpose-built facilities include a CT scanner, and they've recently expanded their services to offer MRI, Hydrotherapy, Physiotherapy, and rehabilitation. My client provide gold-standard inpatient care, along with first opinion small animal services and outpatient services such as emergency and critical care, orthopaedics, ophthalmology, CT/MRI imaging, hydrotherapy, physiotherapy, and laser therapy.

The ideal candidate is an experienced vet with a surgical bias who thrives in a vibrant, forward-thinking environment and is committed to clinical excellence. While an interest in laparoscopic surgery is beneficial, it is not essential. You should be a competent surgeon, able to perform standard emergency procedures and manage complex medical cases.

Enjoy a great work-life balance with a 4-day week and 1 in 4 weekends. The role involves a 40-hour rota with no out-of-hours duties and a minimal on-call rota (about 3-4 times a year). Part-time applicants are also welcome, provided they can work 1 in 4 weekends.

Benefits include:
- An attractive salary of up to £70,000 (dependent on experience/full-time equivalent)
- A generous CPD allowance (plus funding towards certificates)
- A supportive management structure
- 5.6 weeks initial holiday, rising to 6.6 weeks after 2 years’ service
- Access to private health insurance
- A contributory pension scheme
- In-house career development opportunities
- Paid membership fees (RCVS, BVA, VDS)
- Accredited sponsorship for Tier 2 (General) visas
- Access to the reward hub, including wellbeing support and pastoral care
- Cycle to work scheme
- 20% staff discount
- Access to Colleague Assistance Programmes –

Take the next step in your veterinary career and join a team that values your expertise and supports your professional growth.
